Time, Stipend Only Regents School of Austin's Department of
Athletics has a passion and mission to use sports to redeem the
hearts of athletes, parents, coaches and others to Christ. We want
to compete in a way that honors the Lord and points others toward
Him, and will focus heavily on the process of competing well. While
shaping and developing character, we will work to maximize the
talents, skills, and abilities that God gave each athlete for the
benefit of the team. Position Summary Coaches are one of the most
significant components to the athletic program and therefore must
be Christian role models who are committed to fulfilling the
mission of the school, desire to disciple our student-athletes,
serve their families, and who are knowledgeable in their sport.
Duties & Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include, but
are not limited to: Culture Provide a long-term plan for program
advancement in your sport; responsible for implementing the plan
vertically for all teams for grades 7 to 12; plan should include
off-season and summer development goals and opportunities Routinely
meet with coaches, student-athletes, and parents to ensure
awareness and understanding of the athletic department's vision to
redeem sports for Christ Lead conflict resolution between parents,
coaches, and student-athletes on your team Meet with prospective
families whose children have an interest in your sport Instruction
Be a “Master Teacher” utilizing multiple teaching techniques to
reach students who have varying learning styles; ensure assistant
coaches are teaching with the same approach Have written tryout and
practice plans. A progression of skill development and conditioning
improvement should be apparent from practice plans Instruct
properly; practices must be characterized by instruction that
accounts for a logical sequence of fundamentals that consider the
developmental level of the athlete and that lead to an enhanced
progression of player knowledge, skill, and capability; instruction
should move from simple to complex, known to unknown; instruction
should demonstrate appropriate and safe techniques and must include
warnings about unsafe techniques and prohibited practices Condition
properly; practices must account for a progression of
cardiovascular and muscular-skeletal conditioning regimens that
prepare athletes sequentially for more challenging practices and
competitive activities; weather conditions should also be
considered Oversight Provide supervision; must be physically
present and provide supervision over a structured practice that is
appropriate for the age and maturity level of players; coaches are
also expected to supervise the condition, safe usage, maintenance
and upkeep of equipment and facilities Assess athletes readiness
for practice and competition; coaches must be able to evaluate a
student-athletes physical or maturational ability to compete and if
there is any doubt the athlete should not compete until cleared by
a medical physician (our school's Athletic Trainer will not allow
an injured or sick athlete to participate without medical clearance
from the athlete's physician) Maintain safe playing conditions;
possess a higher level of knowledge and skill that permits them to
identify foreseeable causes of injury specific to a sport and
inherent in defective equipment or hazardous environments; weather
conditions are also a consideration here Provide proper equipment;
ensure that all players are properly equipped with equipment that
is appropriate for the age and maturity of the athletes and that is
clean, durable and safe; fitting equipment should be carried out in
accordance with manufacturer's specifications; athletes must wear
protective equipment that is appropriate for the type and level of
practice/playing activity Be a good steward of all equipment,
storage areas, locker rooms, weight rooms, fields, and gyms; keep
facilities and equipment neat and clean Administrative Have high
level knowledge of NCAA/NFHS rules as they pertain to your sport
Attend non-routine events such as district meetings, athletic
banquets, clinics, etc. Meet weekly with Director of Athletics
Provide emergency care; all coaches are required to be
CPR-First-Aid-AED certified; coaches are expected to know how to
engage professional emergency personnel (911) if needed; coaches
should know where automated external defibrillators (AED's) are
located on campus Execute assigned summer camps Other duties as

Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to adapt to varying
social environments that include parents, coaches,
student-athletes, administrators, opposing coaches and school
administrators Regents School of Austin is a unique K-12 school

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred Three years or more coaching experience
Demonstrated desire and ability to disciple youth athletes towards
a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ Demonstrated leadership of
student-athletes and adult coaches Demonstrated faith in Christ;
clear appreciation and support for the Athletic Department's
mission to redeem sports for Christ Information on our Purpose,
Mission, Philosophy, Objectives and Doctrinal Statement Board
members, administration, faculty, coaches and other instructional
personnel of Regents School, whether full-time, part-time or
volunteer, must subscribe to our Purpose, Mission, Philosophy,
Objectives and Doctrinal Statement, evidenced by their signing a
statement of agreement with Article II annually. This document can

supplement, the Regents Board of Directors has adopted two
additional statements as clarifying language under Article II. The
Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy - This was adopted in 2017
by the Board to be clear on our view of the inerrancy of Scripture.
