Dell Children s Medical Center and the Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin are seeking a talented and innovative Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join the growing Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. Founded in 2018, the Center has rapidly expanded, earning a reputation for outstanding clinical outcomes and a strong, collaborative care model. Our program performed 275 pediatric cardiac cases in 2019 including 45 neonatal operations and has continued to grow in scope and innovation. Highlights include: Opening of a dedicated pediatric cardiac critical care unit Central Texas s first pediatric ventricular assist device A state-of-the-art cardiac operating room (opened February 2020), with a second OR soon to follow This position aligns with Dell Medical School s mission to redesign academic medicine and revolutionize healthcare delivery, education, and innovation. What You ll Do: Provide and supervise direct care for patients before, during, and after cardiac surgery Develop and implement clinical protocols Oversee quality improvement registries related to pediatric cardiac anesthesia Lead educational, quality assurance, and performance improvement efforts Participate in coordinated outreach for the Heart Center Qualifications: Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution Board certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology by the ABA Additional formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license (or able to obtain prior to appointment) Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication Strong ability to lead, influence, and collaborate at multiple professional levels Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence and teamwork Eligible for faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Why Dell Medical School?
