General Notes
This Primary Care Nurse (RN) full-time position is to be divided
between Family Wellness Center located in the UT Development
Building located at 2901 N Interstate Hwy 35 Suite 1.301 in Austin,
TX 78722 and the Children's Wellness Center located at 5301 Ross
Road, Suite H in Del Valle, TX. General schedule is Monday through
Friday 8am to 5pm, on occasion schedule may change to include some
evening or weekend hours.
Purpose
Provide professional nursing knowledge and skills in the care and
treatment of children and adult patients in a primary care
setting.
Responsibilities
* Supports patient care by performing focused nursing assessments,
patient intake, vaccines administration, Clinical Laboratory
Improvement Amendments (CLIA) waived testing assisting in the
determination of predictable healthcare needs, within the scope of
practice, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced
practice nurse, physician's assistant, or physician.
* Triages patient calls delivering nursing interventions that are
consistent with stated medical plan of care utilizing the nursing
process to assess, implement, and record patients' response in the
medical record.
* Prepares and administers medications or treatments as prescribed
by a health care provider and supports discharge process of
patients at the end of each visit as necessary.
* Collaborates with the clinic supervisor and participates in the
administration of nursing services by providing working assistance
and assigning tasks to non-licensed medical staff, or office
support personnel.
* Support the operations and management of the clinic's vaccination
program.
* Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation. Ensures
appropriate patient consents and authorizations are obtained for
medical treatment.
* Addresses individuals and information with a high degree of
sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal, or
urgent situations.
* Support communication with community partners via face-to-face
meetings, emails, and phone calls as needed.
* Demonstrate excellent engagement skills with people from diverse
backgrounds.
* Must be comfortable and flexible with changing priorities and
self-directed problem solving.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with
providers, staff, and patient.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing preferred.
* Current unencumbered license from the Texas Board of Nursing.
* At least two years of pediatric and/or adult experience.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish.
* Current CPR certification.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Flexible hours. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
* Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of experience in an outpatient clinical
practice.
Fluent Spanish-speaker.
Salary Range
$71,000.00
