Cyber Security Specialist
As a CPI Cyber Security Specialist, you will be responsible for
responsible for the development and implementation of cyber
security policies and procedures.

become one! CPI has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance
Engineer in CPI's Georgetown, Texas location.
As a CPI Cyber Security Specialist, you will conduct testing and
risk analysis to ensure system performance and integrity. You will
work with Infrastructure Architect and Network Engineer to
recommend changes that will further secure and ensure high
performing system infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve problems
associated with Microsoft Active Directory and Sophos systems. You
will coordinate with security vendor(s) to conduct penetration
tests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct threat and risk analysis and analyze the business
impact of new and existing systems and technologies to eliminate
risk, performance, and capacity issues.
- Implement vulnerability assessments and configure audits of
operating systems, web servers, and databases and detect patterns,
insecure features, and malicious activities in the
infrastructure.
- Perform research, testing, evaluation, and deployment of
security technology and procedures.
- Run diagnostic tests and analyze data to spot threats to
computer systems.
- Develop and implement information security standards,
guidelines, controls, and procedures.
- Work with Infrastructure Architect to develop firewalls and
other security measures to safeguard systems.
- Make recommendations regarding software and hardware that can
strengthen information storage and security records.
- Aid in the development and implementation of best practices
that employees can follow to reduce the risk of data theft.
- Keep current with new viruses, malware, intrusion methods and
collaborate with Business Continuity Specialist on current security
tools. Have an in-depth understanding of vulnerabilities,
management systems and develop protection plans.
- Respond to data threats to limit data loss and retake control
of the system. Write reports outlining the findings of diagnostic
tests and explaining the events of cyber-attacks when they
occur.
- Supports IT Team in planning and implementing network, IP
telephony, backup, security or disaster recovery actions.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of products, developments and
trends in system and security software and hardware. Identifies and
advocates beneficial change opportunities.
- Administer and maintain Enterprise on-premise and Azure Active
Directory services.
- Administer Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
service.
- Work with Cyber Security Insurance Broker to ensure security
requirements are met which minimize risk and control premium costs.

Competencies
- BA/BS in computer science or related field or equivalent work
experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of applied cyber security
experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of IT systems administration
experience.
- Security certification and/or Microsoft certification is
desired.
- Experience should be in a Microsoft and Cisco environment,
including, but not limited to Windows Operating Systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems and to
communicate with and support clients.
- Able to communicate technical information to non-technical
people effectively.
- Proven ability to work across organizational boundaries to
identify business information needs and to implement applications
that fulfill them. Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Works on a computer majority of the day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. to move computers, equipment,
etc. as needed.
- Some travel may be required both by automobile and
airplane.
- May have to perform duties in tight spaces (phone closet,
etc.)
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
