JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directlyto ParksOperationsManager, responsibleforensuring the maintenance, safety andproperuse of equipmentoperated by the Williamson County Parks Department for daily operations.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

* Overseesthe preventative maintenance ofdepartment assets.


* Tracks and manages assigned budgets as well as ensures regular safety inspections and compliance of all playgrounds


* Performsscheduled, routine and emergencymaintenance onpark'sequipmentto support the daily operations of the Parks Department


* Performsand coordinates the completion ofrequired preventativemaintenance prescribedby state and local agencies


* Administers and implements the Parks Department Safety Program


* Conducts weekly safety briefingsand maintains safety compliance forms


* Provides department leadership with insight on safety measures essential for parks staff, facilities, and the public


* Conducts inspections of Park facilities and assets.


* Creates, collaborates, and implements safety training and programs.


* Administersand providesdepartment onboarding and annual trainingrelated to park vehicles,equipment,and safety


* Maintains records of department staff licensing and certifications.


* Participates in the hiring process of parks staff


* Providesrecommendations andassistancein annual budget process by collaborating with department leadership onoperations andequipment needs


* Oversees the park maintenance shops, facilities,equipment,and parts inventory


* Manages and oversees the departments fleet, risk management, and equipment management programs


* Utilizes P-card and other approved purchasing methodstopurchase supplies, materials, parts,tools, and equipment essential fordailyoperations


* Inspects and conducts quality control of all supplies


* Develops and maintains operational routines and procedures for equipment, including organizing, storing, and arranging inventory for daily use


* Performs inventory controlby distributing supplies to Park staff andmaintains inventory logs


* Serves as department liaison for vendors, Fleet Services and Building Maintenance onParksDepartment repairs


* Collaborates with department leadershiponpersonnel managementduties related tohiring, supervision,evaluation,and observationofworkperformed


* Performs department internal project management, supervision, and leadership


* Administerswork order tracking and ticketing system


* Ensures department compliance with various regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements


* Reviews, tracks, and verifies all financial purchases of inventory


* Attends all meetings and trainings as required


* Performs special duties as assigned

* Position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, heavy lifting, and operating equipment


* Position involves safely operating a motor vehicle



ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

* Indoor and outdoor work in all environments, including inclement weather


* Regular travel between work sites



IRREGULAR HOURS

* Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Highschooldiploma orequivalentandthree(3) years of maintenance, facility/groundsoperation experienceincluding inventory control/management experienceOR an equivalent combination of education and experience


* One (1) year of demonstrated lead or supervisory experience


* Two (2) years of customer service experience


* Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety equipment and practices


* Knowledge of inventory control practices



LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required within thirty (30) days of employment

* Valid Texas Class "C" driver's license

Required within six (6) months of employment

* Valid Texas Class "A" Commercial License

Required within six (1) year of employment

* Playground Safety Inspector Certification (CPSI)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Associate or Vocationaldegree in a related field


* Knowledge of budget development, equipment operations, and safety program coordination


* Equipment training Certification


* Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification


* First aid certification
