Job Description:
Description Job purpose The Field Service Tech Journeyman
rotates on a 3/2, 3/1, or 2/1 schedule, servicing customers and
units in a designated region. As a member of the Rapid Response
team, the Field Service Technician Journeyman provides technical
assistance in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy
equipment, working closely with technicians at all levels. With
little to no supervision, the Field Service Tech Journeyman
schedules work, monitors quality control for work performed, and
customer relations. Qualifications Duties and Responsibilities Fill
parts orders for branches, customers, and the service department.
Box, pack or crate parts as necessary for shipment and prepare
shipping documents. Stage outgoing shipments in designated areas,
notify carriers and load trucks. Fill, pack and ship annual return
orders. Process a large volume of express packages daily, including
COD and credit card orders, using a computerized UPS and FedEx
system. Unload trucks, check condition of freight and verify piece
count per freight bill. Unpack and check in shipments per packing
list and dispense per purchase order. Stock parts in designated
areas and maintain a correct stocking sequence. Arrange parts
storage areas to accommodate all stock and maximize storage space.
Locate parts in designated areas to ensure efficient handling and
accurate filling . Resolve minor problems with part numbers and
quantities received or shipped. Record daily volume of work
completed and actual time applied to activity. Clean the assigned
work area daily. Assist in any department needed. Help train new
personnel in the department’s duties and procedures. Assist with
maintaining department files and logs. Assist at will call counter
if needed. Promote good welfare among the company and its
divisions. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications : Must have a high school diploma or
equivalent. Must have 1 year(s) of previous experience.
Requirements : Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s) Must have
working knowledge of the above-titled position and how it relates
to the overall business and its’ objectives. Must meet goals and
objectives set forth by the company. Must conform to policies and
procedures set forth by the company. Must have a current driver's
license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance company
standards. (ONLY IF JOB REQUIRES) Must be computer literate and
proficient in a Windows-based environment. Must be able to lift 50
pounds. Must be able to bend and twist several times a day. Must
have the ability to work flexible hours and days. Must be
dependable and work independently. Must maintain good client
relations. Must maintain a professional appearance. Must promote
and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment. Must have
the ability to effectively operate an electric stand-up forklift.
Must have the ability to effectively operate 4000 to 5000 lb.
capacity forklifts . Must accurately follow written and verbal
instructions. Must count accurately and write legibly. Must work
quickly and accurately with part numbers. Must meet minimum
performance standards for all assignments. Must attend monthly
safety meeting and observe all safety rules. Must protect the
company assets and interests. Working Conditions : Typical hours of
work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Weekend hours as
necessary. May require work in inclement weather conditions and/or
