IT Manager--- Georgetown, Texas SUMMARY: Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Information Technology policies and practices for all AirBorn facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages and controls all aspects of the information systems for the organization including the purchase, installation, and maintenance of system equipment. Information systems include: Corporate ERP database and client connectivity; corporate computer networks; computer operating systems; computer software applications, computer hardware, telephone systems, wide area network connectivity, Internet, EDI, and remote access systems; corporate data system security and related maintenance contracts.
  • Establishes and implements work schedules for short and long term information systems projects.
  • Supervises IT staff and provides guidance and leadership.
  • Coordinates with AirBorn managerial staff to comprehend, evaluate and implement their IT related needs.
  • Reviews and recommends new IT technology and direction to senior management.
  • Establishes and controls total organizational information workflow, hardware, software, files, data security, reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinates and oversees training for users of information systems applications.
  • Works directly with vendors, contractors, and maintenance companies on information systems related issues.
  • Monitors current trends in technology and evaluates and recommends new, applicable technology to management. -- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:
    • Completion of a Bachelors degree from a four year college or university,
    • Seven to ten years of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Familiarity with general business practices, a wide range of software and hardware applications, UNIX, Internet experience, and EDI.
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and internal and external customers.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. -- AirBorn, Inc. is an EOE/Disability/Veteran employer.
