Job Description Job Description Overview We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer & Head of Finance to own the entire financial function end-to-end for a high-growth enterprise technology company delivering mission-critical cryptographic security platforms, including Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), Key Management, PKI, and data protection services, across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. This is a hands-on, operator-level CFO role, ideal for a leader who is equally comfortable: Driving financial strategy and board-level reporting, and Personally owning accounting accuracy, revenue recognition, audits, and controls The right candidate brings deep enterprise technology experience, strong technical fluency, and the operational discipline required to scale a sophisticated business with a lean finance team. Key Responsibilities Executive & Strategic Leadership Act as a core member of the executive team and trusted partner to the CEO Lead financial strategy, long-range planning, and capital allocation Deliver clear, credible financial narratives to the Board and executive stakeholders Full-Stack Finance Ownership Own all finance and accounting functions, including: Accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, and audit Monthly, quarterly, and annual close Financial statements, forecasting, and cash management Establish scalable financial processes while maintaining speed and rigor Revenue, Deals & Enterprise Economics Own revenue recognition and financial treatment across: Hardware Software licenses and subscriptions Cloud and managed services Partner closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations on: Enterprise deal structuring Pricing, margin analysis, and contract review Multi-year and multi-element agreements Controls, Compliance & Risk Build and maintain strong internal controls and audit-ready processes Oversee external audits, tax filings, and financial compliance Ensure financial rigor in a business serving regulated enterprise customers Systems & Scale Own financial systems (ERP, billing, reporting) and drive automation Build and mentor a lean, high-performing finance team Requirements Required Experience & Qualifications 12 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including: CFO, Head of Finance, or equivalent roles Strong background in: Enterprise technology, infrastructure, security, or cloud businesses Hardware SaaS services revenue models Deep working knowledge of: GAAP and ASC 606 Enterprise contract structures Proven ability to operate hands-on in smaller or scaling finance teams Executive-level communication and board presence What Success Looks Like Clean, predictable closes and defensible financials High-confidence forecasting and decision support Scalable finance infrastructure aligned with growth Benefits Health, dental, vision, life, and short/long-term disability insurance Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave Competitive compensation and opportunities for advancement Retirement plan with employer contribution match Welcoming, family-style corporate culture uniquely suited to fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and motivated individuals One of San Antonio’s “Best Places to Work” for nine consecutive years
