that supports and equips people for servant- leadership. The role
of the church staff is to mobilize and support Gods people for Gods
mission. First Presbyterian Church provides great work atmosphere

The Music Ministry of First Presbyterian Church seeks to support
and enrich worship in both Traditional and Contemporary contexts.
Additionally, the Music Ministry supports the outreach of FPC to
the broader community through concerts and direct ministry. In all
aspects of ministry, we seek to equip and educate both volunteers
(from children to senior adults) and music staff in order that we
might collectively present an offering of sacrifice and praise to
our living God. The Modern Worship Musician is a part-time position
that works 2-3 hours per week (when scheduled) and is classified as
a non-exempt position. Hours may be flexible. This position does
not qualify for healthcare and retirement savings benefits.
SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS Maintains a life of personal
and spiritual development and accountability. Refrains from any
social or private behavior considered or interpreted as unbecoming
a Christian and a devoted follower of Christ. Exemplifies the
utmost integrity and demonstrates character that is above reproach.
RELATIONSHIP TO THE CHURCH, PASTOR, AND STAFF Practices a
philosophy of following pastoral leadership Demonstrates loyalty to
the Church, Lead Pastor, and their Supervisor(s) Demonstrates a
desire and ability to help make other staff successful Relates well
to others on a professional and personal level Maintains the
highest level of confidentiality MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Be an excellent musician and singer. Maintain a good working
attitude (be compatible, friendly, and resourceful working with
volunteers/other staff/Minister of Music). Desire to serve others
and the ability to be a team player. Understand the role music
plays in the greater church. DESIRABLE SKILLS Ability to read lead
sheets/chord charts STAFF ACCOUNTABILITY Creates and maintains a
work environment consistent with the Churchs culture Exemplifies a
positive, can-do attitude Understands that our staff works together
as one for the health of the whole Body of Christ, for the glory of
God, and for the unity of our staff PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strong musical leadership in rehearsals and worship, while
at the same time setting a good example for volunteers.
