Located at various HCA Healthcare facilities, this position is pivotal in supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The extern will engage in learning sessions, assist in treating patients, and gain practical skills necessary for a successful career in Respiratory Therapy. Assist licensed Respiratory Therapists in delivering respiratory care services. Participate in patient assessment and deliver appropriate therapies as directed. Maintain patient safety and confidentiality according to legal and hospital guidelines. Engage in educational workshops to enhance skills and knowledge. Document patient responses to therapies and report outcomes to supervising staff. Knowledge of respiratory care techniques and protocols. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k BLS certification required by the start of the externship.
