Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES : Optimizes the transformation
of data into proactive and predictive models to improve the quality
of health care services and population health, enhance the patient
experience of care, and maximize the use of health information
systems. Works with leadership, directors, clinicians, and other
staff to evaluate, develop, and improve clinical programs and the
effective use of data systems. Works collaboratively with
University Health information management, analytical, and data
management teams as well as internal and external partners to
develop reports and statistical analyses necessary to manage and
measure patient care processes by tracking clinical outcomes,
costs, and utilization. Participates in health outcomes research
and provides support and statistical consultation for University
Health staff on projects involving comparative effectiveness
studies and quality improvement initiatives. Develops processes and
procedures for data analyses that promote quality clinical care and
high patient satisfaction as well as improved financial outcomes
for the system. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in
information technology, business or clinical field. Masters degree
preferred. Minimum five (5) years related work experience in
project management, data analysis, or market research. Advanced
experience with statistical analysis programs, analytical charting
and graphing software, as well as data capture and storage software
preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office software, database, data
analysis, and reporting products. Project management experience
with medical chart review and clinical data abstraction within an
integrated health system or academic medical center preferred.
Operational experience with workflow analysis and process design,
preferably related to electronic health records and health
information exchanges is preferred. Currently, the requirement is
to become a Midas Certified System Manager by completing the Midas
Certified System Manager (MCSM) exam within 1 year of assuming the
role. If already obtained, the employee will only be required to
maintain the certification.
