ID: 75323462 Shift: 06:45 PM-07:15 AM Description: Required Experience: Minimum of one year of ICU experience.Summary: The ICU RN provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients requiring continuous monitoring, advanced interventions, and complex clinical decision-making. The RN functions as a patient advocate, clinical expert, and collaborative team member within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.- Care for critically ill adult patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive infusions, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-operative or post-procedural critical care.- Perform ongoing, detailed patient assessments and reassessments.- Interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms, lab results, arterial blood gases, and hemodynamic data.- Titrate medications per provider orders and unit protocols.- Identify subtle changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions.- Manage emergency situations, including codes, rapid deterioration, and complex procedures.Ideal Candidate communication, proactive nature, strong initiative, integrity, responsibility, commitment to patient and family advocacy, problem-solving skills, good teamwork, and a foundational knowledge of pathophysiology.BLS, ACLS, NIH required. Unit Description: ICU is 8 beds 2:1 ratioWill float to IMC which is 6 beds 3:1 ratioCharge Nurse out of numbers most of the time and covers both ICU/IMC, CRT and Code's in house.Patient : medical, CHF, cardiac, sepsis, septic shock, ARDs, renal failure, etoh withdrawal, GI bleeds, suicide, COPD, pancreatitis, respiratory failure, vents, bipaps, trachs, CRRT.ASNW ICU/IMC is a nurse driven unit, no physician residents to think for you and Critical Care Physicians are not in house 24/7. It is an open ICU/IMC unit where Internal Medicine Physicians admit all critical patients then consult the Critical Care Physician and other specialty physicians if needed.
