looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager in the
Austin metropolitan area to lead and oversee TxDOT Construction
Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects across Texas. The ideal
candidate will have a strong background in transportation
infrastructure, project delivery, and TxDOT standards and
procedures. This role is responsible for managing CEI project
teams, ensuring quality and compliance, and fostering strong
relationships with clients and stakeholders to achieve successful
project outcomes. Responsibilities: Lead and manage all phases of
TxDOT CEI projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and
closeout. Oversee and coordinate field inspection, documentation,
and project controls to ensure compliance with TxDOT
specifications, procedures, and the Construction Contract Manual
(CCM). Serve as the primary liaison with TxDOT, contractors,
subconsultants, and internal project teams. Monitor project
performance, budget, and schedule, implementing corrective actions
as needed to ensure successful delivery. Manage project
documentation and reporting in accordance with TxDOT and company
requirements. Supervise and mentor CEI field staff, inspectors, and
record keepers, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and
accountability. Review and approve project documentation, pay
estimates, change orders, and reports. Participate in progress
meetings, constructability reviews, and issue resolution
discussions. Ensure adherence to Historically Underutilized
Business (HUB), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and other
compliance programs. Support business development efforts by
contributing to proposals, client presentations, and pursuit
strategies. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or
related field required Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in
Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months through comity from
another state 8 years of progressive experience in construction
management, inspection, or project delivery (preferably on TxDOT
highway, bridge, or transportation projects) Strong knowledge of
TxDOT specifications, SiteManager, LCPTracker, and DMS systems.
Must have experience with TxDOT construction inspection contract
documentation including preparing Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs),
Force Account Records, reconciling Contractor Monthly Invoicing and
providing detailed weekly progress reports related to both project
progress and budget Proven ability to manage teams, budgets,
schedules, and client relationships effectively. Excellent
communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to
work on-site as needed and travel within project regions. Must
complete OSHA 10 hour training (training paid by WRA) Must have a
valid driver’s license, good driving record and personal vehicle
for travel to and from assigned construction sites Basic computer
skills (Word & Excel) are desirable as well as experience with
using computer laptops or field tablets for preparing electronic
IDRs and photographic documentation This position may require
periodic in-state overnight travel Physical Requirements (Essential
Functions): This position requires the ability to perform a variety
of physical tasks in the field as part of the essential job
functions. Duties may include: Walking and navigating across rough
or uneven terrain such as mud, rocks, grass, dirt, steep hillsides,
heavily wooded areas, and other unpaved surfaces Moving around
active project sites, which may involve climbing ladders, stairs,
scaffolding, ramps, or poles Performing physical activities such as
bending, twisting, kneeling, and climbing Remaining in a stationary
position—either standing or sitting—for extended periods of time
Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and/or carting objects up
to 50 lbs distances up to 25 yards. Driving to and from project
sites which may involve distances of up to or exceeding 200 miles
round trip. Must be able to function safely in an environment with
potential risks, including, but not limited to those described in
this document. Must be willing to work nights and overtime, when
required by the project assignment The work environment may include
exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including high and
low temperatures, precipitation, and other outdoor elements. Work
may also be performed in noisy conditions or confined/enclosed
