Job Description Job Description Design Engineer Location: Adkins, TX Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break) Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 Compensation: Based on experience About Top Metal Solutions Top Metal Solutions LLC specializes in high-quality metal fabrication, including racks, structural components, CNC cutting, welding, and coating services. Based in Adkins, Texas, we are rapidly growing and take pride in building a strong team to support our manufacturing operations. Position Summary We are seeking an innovative, organized, and detail-oriented Design Engineer to support the design and production of our metal fabrication projects. This role is key to ensuring drawing accuracy, data collection and updates, project tracking, and on-time delivery - as well as effective communication with production teams, clients, and suppliers. Responsibilities Create and release work orders for production and purchasing. Develop production drawings with tolerances and detailed notes, as well as fabrication drawings. Monitor the fabrication process to ensure quality and schedule compliance. Perform data collection and measurements on products inside and outside the plant as needed. Create 3D models of parts and assemblies. Collaborate with end users to define designs and provide effective solutions. Design, propose, and select appropriate materials for new projects. Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and sheet cutting lists. Assist in material quotations. Conduct analysis and closely track assigned projects according to committed deadlines. Organize and plan activities efficiently. Maintain direct communication with internal staff and suppliers. Requirements Authorization to work in the United States (valid work permit or legal status required). Bilingual English/Spanish (reading, writing, and verbal communication). Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 1 year of experience in design or technical drafting within the metal-mechanical industry. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (sheet metal and welded assemblies). Knowledge of fasteners, engineering materials, blueprint reading, and metal profiles. Knowledge of technical drawing standards. Experience using measuring tools such as tape measure and caliper. Plus Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Experience with SolidWorks simulation (finite elements) and CNC machining. Certifications: CSWA, CSWP (Weldments, Sheet Metal). Additional experience in quotations, project management, urgent requests, and complex fabrication. Skills Strong attention to detail. Problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements Work performed in office, shop, and plant environments. Possible exposure to noise or heat. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required. Compensation and Benefits Starting salary: Based on experience (W-2 employment). Paid Time Off (PTO). Company holiday break from December 24th to January 2nd.
