Job Description:

The QA Consultant provides test planning, test execution and troubleshooting support for the Motive Customer Project team as part of the Client Test Augmentation SOW. Works with the Motive Customer Project Development team and all their stakeholders in to effectively complete testing on schedule. The purpose of QA Consultant/Test Augmentation for Motive Customer Project is to ensure maximum product quality for deployment in customer network by validating system-level functionality under normal and stressed conditions. Requirements pertaining to pre-existing functionality are validated during regression testing and it is the responsibility of the test engineer to ensure that none of the existing functionality is broken with the new software under test. Requirements pertaining to new features and functionality is also tested and validated. The QA Consultant reviews all documentation and test plans, and executes test plans and test cases in a multi-vendor network environment. There is no specialized lab support to support the QA Consultant, therefore the QA Consultant is expected to be able to ensure the integrity of lab environment by himself/herself before performing planned testing. The QA Consultant is expected to know and use TeamTrack to communicate and track software problems. The QA Consultant is expected to perform regression testing around features delivered in previous releases to ensure previous functionality is not impaired Qualifications: ? Must be a quick learner (without formal training), self motivated with outstanding customer interface, communication and advocacy skills. ? Has a very high aptitude for trouble shooting and problem resolution. Most issues relating to test setup, tools, equipment, facilities, and translations have to be resolved by the QA Consultant working independently. ? The person is very flexible and is able to quickly adjust course in response to unexpected events or change in priorities. ? The person enjoys working in a time critical environment and looks at issues as opportunities to add value for the customer, to improve product quality and to learn and grow personally and professionally. ? The person is able to take direction from Deployment managers, QA leads and effectively perform his/her functions while at the same time supporting project development. ? Is located in or near Austin Texas. ? The engineer is able to understand the needs of the customer and the intent of the SOW and add value to the customer instead of being limited by the SOW. Knowledge, Experience, Education & Competency: Protocols: ? In-depth knowledge of Home Device Manager, Service View, Service Activation Manager, Self Support Manager, and test tools used by Motive QA Consultants. ? Experience with Ghost and reimaging hardware to support testing environments. ? Thorough understanding of TeamTrack and issue processing practices. ? Experience in lab environments and demonstrated ability to bring up platforms, test base and new functionality, and troubleshoot issues on a short fuse to meet customer test schedules. ? Experience with DSL, VDSL devices and the TR69 standards associated with those devices. ? Experience testing on all Windows and Mac platforms.
